This is the view from Ft. Casey looking out over the sound. It was so....BIG. Angie enjoyed climbing on all the old ladders and such - she kept me inside her coat to take pictures when she stopped. Water again....it makes me a little nervous.
We drove and drove all day. Angie took me out of the car for this walk - to the lighthouse - it was built in 1860 - well, not this one - but one like it. Have you ever wondered what a lighthouse is for? Before GPS and modern stuff - it kept ships from danger. And each lighthouse had a different light pattern so ship captains would know where they were based on the light sequence. It's a great example of following the light and keeping away from danger. I liked going up in the tower - Angie got a little claustrophobic.....
